Made of epoxy-treated aluminium, the frame includes 4 posts that are secured to the ground and crossbars for supporting the flat retractable roof. Ideally secured on a wooden platform or a concrete floor, the "Palmeira" Garden Gazebo can accommodate up to 20 people.
Retractable roof
The thick 200 g/m² water-repellent polyester fabric slides over the frame, enableing the opening to be adjusted according to the weather or the time of day. Fold it up in case of heavy rains and store it in a dry place during the winter.
Accessories and spare parts
Extend the life of your gazebo by replacing the roof sheet sold separately. Curtains can also be added to decorate or close this garden reception area.

I already had a 3x3, but I had to part with it because this retractable canopy was very worn out. No spare parts at Hesperide and the 3x3 is no longer made. Another thing too, the magnet doesn't do its job, it's not strong enough and comes into contact with the fabric, so with the wind, the retractable part folds up on its own.

The movement of the roof curtain is not equipped with proper adequate wheels; these are molded hard plastic parts without any bearings (I doubt their durability over time - I hope these parts will be available in store). Only one magnet ensures the blocking of the roof at the front, which is ineffective (it would be desirable to have two and of greater strength), I will fix this. The fixation of the side posts to the ground is surprising: 2 very small screws ensure the hold between the floor plate, which itself, according to the brochure, is secured by 10 cm pegs (Oops). I installed it on a wooden terrace and used lag screws. Despite good squaring of the upper part, the whole thing remains unstable and too flexible (the ground fixation still needs to be refined to ensure good durability).

Furthermore, attaching the canopy to the frame proved tedious. Once assembled, the lack of rigidity of the whole structure is surprising. The last, but not least, disappointment: the canopy's performance! We expected the canopy to protect us from light rain, but not only are the drainage eyelets located 40 cm from the edge, significantly reducing the protected area, but when it rains, the canopy quickly collects pools of water! These pools cause the canopy to sag and easily leak, getting occupants wet. Even when folded, the protective cover, meant to shield the main canopy, collects large pools of water that also distort it. With a 200g/m² canopy and even at €400, we expected much better water drainage management, especially since the canopy is not removable. The only consolation: the overall look is very attractive and it provides excellent sun protection.

It can't accommo... see more It's a shame because the product is attractive, but once installed, the problem(s) arise: the canopy doesn't stay open, the magnets aren't strong enough. It can't accommodate more than 4 or 6 people when it's crowded. When it rains, there are 30cm holes on each side and at each fold for water drainage. It's not waterproof. The zippers for closing the curtains attach from top to bottom, not the other way around, which is impractical and requires climbing on a chair. I ordered the curtains upon receiving the product, and I'm still waiting for the missing rings for one curtain. In short, it's now relegated to sheltering sun loungers, and I've ordered another one from a different site. I do not recommend it, and given the price of the whole set, I'm very, very disappointed.

The screw holes don't line up at the base, had to enlarge the holes to make it fit properly. Difficult to assemble the 4 legs with the upper structure when there are only 2 of us. The magnet that holds the canopy open doesn't have enough magnetic force, and the canopy opens if there's a bit of wind.
